Flood Relief Donation Drive
Over the past two months, Houston has seen heavy storm-related flooding—most notably a tragic flash flood in Central Texas over July 4–5 that claimed over 130 lives, including at least 19 Houston residents caught off‑guard in the Hill Country.
On July 11th, 2025, in response to the devastating effects of recent flooding, the First Spark Institute launched a donation drive focused on gathering basic daily necessities such as hygiene products, non-perishable food, and household supplies. Community members came together to contribute generously over the course of the drive. Once collected, all items were donated to a local relief event that provided direct support to families and individuals impacted by the flood. This effort aimed not only to meet immediate material needs but also to show solidarity and compassion during a time of crisis.
